Marcus’ principal area of practice is employment and industrial relations and workplace health and safety with a strong focus in the resources and construction sectors.
Prior to joining the Bar, Marcus spent more than 25 years in the resources sector and practices more broadly in that sector. This includes cross-cultural dispute resolution in native title and international offshore matters involving international agreements and boundaries as well as ESG and contractual disputes.
Marcus regularly lectures in litigation and advocacy, employment and industrial law, workplace health and safety, contract law, mining law and the law of the sea.
Marcus accepts briefs to appear before Federal Courts, State and Territory Courts within the resource’s jurisdictions and specialist tribunals. He also provides services in independent workplace investigations and ethical conduct inquiries.
